1st Annual Surfers Healing Folly Beach 5K Run and Splash Down - May 2, 2009
Here is a great opportunity for you to run a race, paddle in the ocean and have all the proceeds go to bettering the lives of autistic children.
The 5K run will start at 9am at the corner of Center St. and East Arctic Avenue, Folly Beach, SC. Registration is $25 before May 2, and $30 for late registration on day of the race.
The Splash Down which is a paddle race will take place at noon at the West side of the pier. This is a paddle competition with all contestants paddling on any type of board from the beach around the buoy at the pier and back. Registration for the paddle only is $15 prior to May 2nd, and $20 for late registration on the day of the race.
Registration for the 5K includes a spot in the Splash Down paddle.
Here is a great opportunity for you to run/walk a race, paddle in the ocean and have all the proceeds go to bettering the lives of autistic children through the Surfers Healing Surf Camp.
The 5K run will start at 9am at the corner of Center St. and East Arctic Avenue, Folly Beach, SC. Registration is $25 before April 26, and $30 for late registration/race day registration.
After the run, we move to the beach for the Rebel Yell Dash, kicking off around 11am. This is a 200 yd race around the buoy using any type of board (surfboard, bodyboard, boogieboard). This is your chance to be in the spotlight by out paddling all your crazy friends!
Immediately following is the Half Mile Stand Up Paddle Board race. This race begins on the beach on the East side of the pier and travels along the beach 1/4 mile, and then back a 1/4 mile to the start finish.
WIN THE TIKI TROPHY!!!
Winner will have the best combined 5K and Stand Up Paddle Board race time. Male and Female winners.
